Salt Lake City, UT–June 14, 2011

Certiport (www.certiport.com),the official test delivery solution provider for the global workforce and academic markets, today announced the winners of the 2011 IC³ World Cup, a team competition developed to support foundational computer and Internet skills.

Certiport named the GITTC Flying Camels from Oman as the winning team from a pool of 124 teams from 25 countries.  The Flying Camels, comprised of 45 trainers from Global Skills, certified the most individuals in the Internet and Computing Core Certification(IC3) for the second consecutive year.

“Continuing on the success of last year was always going to be a challenge. However we have the good fortune of working with an excellent team of dedicated and hardworking Omani youth who have managed yet again to outperform themselves year on year.

The Flying Camels have made their nation proud by raising the Omani flag for the second consecutive year, leading the world-wide digital literacy race on the trot.

A positive attitude is important, but it is only part of the process. Understanding how to surmount obstacles and difficulties is a vital component in succeeding and creating a winning environment in order for your team to achieve. We are glad to build on our success and hope that the forthcoming year will be bigger and better.

And in the words of president Obama: “I will never forget who this victory truly belongs to. It belongs to you. It belongs to you.” The Omani people.” said Marie Taylor, Chief Executive Officer, Global Skills LLC.

In its sixth year as an international competition, teams competing in the 2011 IC³ World Cup earned points as team members individually prepared for and achieved the IC³ credential.

“The IC³ World Cup was designed to motivate students to seek certification, and it has been a great success over the past six years,” said Ray Kelly, Chief Executive Officer, Certiport.  “Every year a greater number of individuals earn certification during the competition, with an astonishing 19,800 IC3 certifications earned this year.”
